

Dr. Walid Moneimne brings powerful experience to Nokia's Networks business in Europe, Middle East and Africa

Nokia is taking on a strongly experienced hand to continue to further strengthen its networks business in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Dr. Walid Moneimne has been appointed Senior Vice President, EMEA, Networks.
EMEA is an important market for Nokia. With Dr. Moneimne's appointment Networks will continue to strengthen its leadership position in the region and further enhance its excellent cooperations with key customers in supporting them in operating networks and the roll-out of next generation mobile networks.
Dr. Moneimne brings a background of in-depth knowledge and experience from IT sector - most recently he has led Enterprise Systems Group at Dell on EMEA level, being located in the U.K. At Dell he defined and implemented the new enterprise organisation across EMEA. Previously his experience covers the management of Enterprise Business Group at Compaq being located in Switzerland, Germany and United Arab Emirates. Dr. Moneimne developed all the business for Compaq in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa and established most of their subsidiaries.
In his new role Dr. Moneimne will work alongside Mr. Kari Ahola who will continue in his current role as Senior Vice President, EMEA, Networks, Nokia, until moving onto new challenges within Nokia at the end of 2004.
