New N-Gage(TM) Titles Turn Up The Heat On Mobile Gaming
December 01, 2003

Wide range of genres for mobile multiplayer gaming includes new Nokia titles

Nokia today announced new game titles for the N-Gage mobile game deck, including previously unannounced Nokia published games. Coming during 2004, the latest additions to the portfolio bring mobility to the strategy, action, sports, and racing genres, allowing mobile gamers to play a range of both exclusive N-Gage games and blockbuster titles in a new and exciting way.

Titles will include:
Ashen
Operation Shadow
Requiem of Hell
Sega Rally Championship
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Jungle Storm
Worms
WWE

Many of these titles will allow mobile gamers to compete with multiple friends at the same time via Bluetooth wireless technology or to connect to N-Gage Arena services, such as downloading ghosts and tips or uploading their best game performance.

Two of the titles will be Nokia published titles, available exclusively on the N-Gage game deck: Ashen and Operation Shadow. Both titles will take full advantage of the mobile multiplayer features of the N-Gage game deck, including multiplayer features via the N-Gage Arena.

"These new titles expand the N-Gage game portfolio with a range of blockbuster hits and new genres," said Pasi Pölönen, Director of Game Publishing, Entertainment and Media Business Unit, Nokia Mobile Phones. "The mobile multiplayer features of many of these titles will give mobile gamers the chance to play with other people, not just in the same room but even on the other side of the world. We are working with leading game developers and publishers around the world to showcase the innovation and excitement that mobility brings to the games industry with the goal to have 50 to 100 titles by the end of 2004."

In addition, seven previously announced titles with strong multiplayer gaming over Bluetooth wireless technology are shipping now: FIFA 2004, Moto GP, NCAA 2004, Rayman 3, Red Faction, Virtua Tennis and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Team Stealth Action. Each of these titles gives gamers a completely new way to play their favorite titles, allowing players to compete in real-time against each other over Bluetooth. For example, Red Faction pumps up the adrenaline by giving your friend the chance to pop up from around the corner just before you're about to finish. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Team Stealth Action gives a never-before available opportunity to play in co-operative mode over Bluetooth.

Pasi adds, "In fact, players can't get through the co-operative missions of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Team Stealth Action without working together. The game requires communication between players, which builds the whole element of social gaming and brings a new interaction through games at cafes, at the bus station or even on the move."

Early 2004 will see additional titles such as Marcel Desailly Pro Soccer and Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2004 coming to stores.

This is a first glimpse at the wide portfolio of N-Gage titles coming to the market during 2004, with additional titles to be announced in the coming weeks.
