Nokia and New World Mobility sign network expansion agreement in Hong Kong

Nokia and New World Mobility have signed an agreement for the further expansion of New World Mobility's mobile communication services in Hong Kong SAR. The contract is valued at almost USD 25 million and the expansion is scheduled to be completed by the end of this month.



With this agreement, Nokia will deliver mobile switching equipment, base stations, high capacity base station controllers and a full range of professional services. In addition, Nokia will provide its cutting-edge Intelligent Frequency Hopping (IFH) technology to further enhance the capacity and quality of the New World Mobility network.

The partnership between Nokia and New World Mobility has been established since 1996 and Nokia remains the sole infrastructure supplier for the network in Hong Kong. Nokia's GPRS core network solution was supplied to New World Mobility last year.
