Nokia signs fixed access equipment deal with Metro Red in Mexico

Nokia and Mexico's Metro Red have signed a deal for the supply of fixed access equipment.

The contract includes PDH transmission equipment, cross connects and the Nokia Network Management System. In addition, Nokia will provide a full range of customer services, which also covers implementation and technical support.

Metro Red will be offering services in Mexico City and the surrounding areas. In addition to their voice, data and video service offering to corporate customers in Mexico, Metro Red has established itself as a major provider of solutions and value added services to corporations in Brazil and Argentina.

"Metro Red will now be able to offer additional services thanks to the increase in transmission capacity," said Walther Tessman, General Director, Metro Red, "Nokia was chosen because its equipment meets our requirements, such as high network availability, security and manageability, but also because of the excellent support and services offered that completed the package."
