Nokia to supply Dell Computer Company next generation performance monitors
October 15, 1999
Nokia and Dell® expand their OEM relationship, with Nokia supplying next generation performance monitors to Dell Computer Corporation systems sold in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The contract for 17-inch performance monitors developed and produced by Nokia Display Products is scheduled to initiate shipments in early October 1999.
Dell Computer Corporation, the world's leading direct computer systems company* is ranked Number 78 among the Fortune 500® companies and Number 210 in the Fortune Global 500TM.
With quality weighing most in Dell's choice of OEM partner, the new contract delivers shining proof of Nokia's quality capabilities and performance. "Nokia has proven its ability to supply a "Best-in-Class" product that can meet with Dell's very stringent quality demands and targets. We believe that the Nokia R&D Group has the capabilities to design world class products," says Soren Krarup, Marketing Manager at Dell Computer Corporation.
"Nokia sets high value on continued and expanded relationship with the leading direct computer systems company", says Tom Bunning, General Manager, OEM Sales America at Nokia Display Products Inc.
The new 17-inch AG, 92 kHz monitor supplied by Nokia is based on new CRT technology. The monitor with an appreciably flatter screen than conventional CRT monitor cuts down screen reflection and gives a superb picture performance with excellent picture geometry and rich colours.
Nokia Display Products is a leading player in the performance monitor market, with sales under the own brand accounting for about half of total sales. Nokia has monitor manufacturing facilities in Europe and North America. Product development is centred in Finland.
