Nokia Expands Monitor Production to Hungary

NOKIA Monitors has acquired the fixed assets (land, buildings and equipment) of a monitor manufacturing plant in Pécs, Hungary.
The plant was previously owned by the Italian company Hantarex. The deal includes 11 hectares of land and 24,000 square meters of manufacturing space.
The factory, Nokia Monitor Magyarország Kft / Nokia Monitors Hungary Ltd., is scheduled to start production in early 1996 with a target capacity of 500,000 monitors. In the first stage, the factory will produce 15 inch monitors for the global market.
Nokia is expanding its manufacturing base to increase its flexibility towards customers and distribution channels.
Nokia currently manufactures monitors in Salo, Finland. In addition Nokia Monitors has a sales company in the US and sales offices in Germany, England, France and Sweden.
