Nokia supplies digital multimedia terminals to GlobeCast, the international pole of satellite transmissions of France Telecom

Nokia Multimedia Terminals has began to supply its 2nd generation digital multimedia terminal, the Mediamaster 9800 S, to GlobeCast-France Telecom

Video and audio are transmitted by satellite and received simultaneously by all GlobeCast's European customers via the Nokia Mediamaster. An unlimited number of receivers can be connected to the network, which creates substantial cost efficiency in distribution of information. The GlobeCast-France Telecom network will be used for internal information and training purposes.

Pekka Kuusela, Vice President Sales of Nokia Multimedia Terminals said : "The use of our standard product, the 9800 S, in this advanced network proves that we have succeeded in creating a powerful multipurpose product. The co-operation with France Telecom marks an important step forward on our way to establishing long-term relationships with major global telecom operators."
