Nokia to supply DX 200 switching system to Tele 1 Europe in Finland
September 07, 1999
(September 7, 1999) - Nokia and Tele 1 Europe in Finland Oy have signed an agreement for the supply of the Nokia DX 200 switching system to Tele 1 Europe in Finland.
Tele 1 Europe started operations in Finland in May this year, offering data, Internet and voice services to corporate customers. In other Scandinavian countries, Tele 1 Europe already has established its position as a significant operator for voice traffic. With Nokia's DX 200 switching technology, the company now extends its offering of voice services to Finnish customers. The equipment will be taken into use in September.
"Nokia's DX 200 switching platform was a natural choice for us, based on our earlier good experience in other Scandinavian countries," states Mr. Ari-Jussi Knaapila, Managing Director, Tele 1 Europe in Finland Oy. "Modern and uniform switching technology combined with the capacity of our own optical fibre network gives us a considerable competitive advantage", he continues.
Nokia's switching solutions and applications are built on the DX 200 switching platform, used in mobile and fixed applications alike. Nokia has delivered its DX 200 switching solutions to more than 140 operators in approximately 40 countries.
Nokia is paving the way to the mobile information society with its innovative products and solutions. Nokia is the leading mobile phone supplier and a leading supplier of mobile, fixed and IP networks including related services. It also supplies multimedia terminals and computer displays.
