Nokia Broadband IP Access solution full system demonstration at Telecom '99 Geneva
September 30, 1999
- Towards the Mobile Information Society with Nokia Broadband
- The Nokia Broadband IP Access solution brings greater bite to broadband service supply with a host of exciting new features to be unveiled at Telecom '99 Geneva, Switzerland during 10-17 October. The Nokia Broadband IP Access solution offers ADSL full-rate and ADSL.Lite for the consumer market, and SDSL for symmetrical transmission, particularly suited for corporate users. The Nokia Broadband IP Access solution supports all and any combinations of these DSL technologies.
The Nokia Broadband IP Access solution gives network operators and Internet Service Providers the opportunity to offer a wide variety of high volume services, such as Internet access, or advanced tailored services such as remote working. This can be done cost-effectively with only minor modifications to the existing network.
This provides an impressive range of benefits for both service providers and end users. The solution enables selection of different services and speeds, which means service providers are able offer flexibility in their service pricing.
The solution comprises of Nokia M Network Terminals (NTEs), Nokia D50e DSL Access Multiplexers (DSLAMs), Nokia R700 Remote Access Nodes, Nokia Network Management System (NMS) for IP, Nokia IP Authenticator (NIA), Nokia Datacom Customer Care and Billing (CCB) system and Nokia Provideo for Broadband IP Access. The Nokia Broadband IP Access solution provides a proven end-to-end solution that includes support services spanning the whole lifecycle of the system.
For end users, the capacity to get simultaneous voice and data, either using a normal telephone or VoIP telephones, is a major benefit. Moreover, ISDN telephony will also be carried on the same line as ADSL.
Choice of access brings a choice of services. At the customer premises, Nokia offers a choice of equipment for both residential and corporate customers. For the mass-market, applications such as WWW-browsing, IP-TV and e-commerce become available. Business customers require improved service levels and Virtual Private Networks with security. Nokia Broadband IP Access allows the operator to prioritise services and provide enhanced security with Nokia's best-in-class range of security solutions.
The Nokia Broadband IP Access solution brings an end to the so called "World-Wide-Wait". It enables all services on existing copper lines, always on, delivered at speed, exactly where end-users need it.
