K-P Wilska appointed President of Nokia Inc. in the Americas
August 27, 1999



Mr. Kari-Pekka "K-P" Wilska, who has led Nokia Mobile Phones to the number one position in the United States, the company's largest market, will assume additional duties as President of Nokia Inc. in the Americas. The appointment is effective October 1.

In his new position, Wilska succeeds Olli Kallasvuo, who will focus on his duties as Nokia's Chief Financial Officer.

Wilska will also continue to lead Nokia's handset business as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Nokia Mobile Phones, Americas.

Wilska is one of the cellular industry's true pioneers. He joined Nokia in 1973 and has held numerous management and marketing positions, including executive posts with Nokia Cellular Systems, Nokia Telecommunications, Kinex Corporation and Mobira Oy. He is a member of the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association Executive Board and serves on the Board of Directors of the CTIA Wireless Foundation. Wilska holds a bachelor's degree in radio and television technology from the Helsinki Institute of Technology.
