Nokia to expand Tele Danmark's GSM dual band network

A new GSM customer for Nokia in Denmark


Nokia and Tele Danmark have signed a frame agreement for further expansion of Tele Denmark's GSM network in Denmark.

Under the contract, Nokia will deliver GSM 900 and GSM 1800 equipment to Tele Danmark, including base stations, base station controllers and the Nokia NMS 2000 network management system. In addition, a range of customer services including implementation, network operation, network optimisation and training will be provided. The new system will be taken into commercial use in October 1999, offering Tele Danmark's customers increased GSM capacity.

The contract also includes Nokia's High-Speed Circuit Switched Data (HSCSD) solution.

"Nokia has worked together with Tele Danmark for many years in the area of fixed networks and international investments. We are now very pleased to further expand our cooperation into GSM business in Denmark. This agreement further underlines our good cooperation with Tele Danmark, " says Mr. Steen Boas Andersen, Managing Director, Nokia, Denmark.
