Nokia to supply dual band network to Primatel in Hungary

Primatel, the new GSM 1800 mobile operator in Hungary, has selected Nokia as its supplier for the roll-out of its GSM-1800/GSM-900 network in Hungary.
For Primatel's launch of its network, Nokia will supply a complete turn-key GSM1800/GSM-900 system, including equipment and services. An agreement was signed in Budapest on 26 July 1999. Primatel plans to start commercial service by the end of this year.
Primatel is a 50.1% owned subsidiary of Vodafone AirTouch Plc. Other partners include RWE Telliance, Antenna Hungaria and the Hungarian Post Office.
With this co-operation, the number of operators to which Nokia supplies GSM technology increases to 85 operators in 38 countries.
