Nokia to deliver Call Processing Platform to Telia

Nokia and Swedish operator Telia have signed a Letter of Intent covering the supply of the Nokia DX 200 call processing platform.

Telia will be implementing the equipment to enhance its IP telephony network.

The Nokia DX 200 platform will be used to provide enhanced quality and increased flexibility for the IP telephony-based network services, including improved ease of implementation of Internet services.

"We are satisfied with the capabilities of Nokia's DX 200 platform. This call processing platform will give us the possibility to develop an enhanced range of services for our customers. Based on the IP-telephony service concept developed by Telia, Telia's aim is to provide IP-telephony services for business and residential markets in Sweden.

Telia is the leading supplier of telecom-based information services in the Nordic/Baltic region. At the same time, "seamless" pan-European and global services are being realized through powerful alliances and partnerships in Europe and around the world. Annual turnover 1998 reached 51,240 MSEK and the number of employees amounted to approx. 30,600.
