Nokia 449ZA adds a new ergonomic option to Nokia's Value Line
May 05, 1999

The 15-inch Nokia 449ZA adds a new option to Nokia's Value Line family of displays for business and home use.

This display with an excellent picture quality, good ergonomic performance and low power consumption is aimed at markets where demand focuses on this size category.

The performance and price of the Nokia 449ZA match in this size category those of the previously launched Value Line displays that comprise screen sizes of 17, 19 and 21 inches. The picture of the 449ZA is flicker free at all resolutions, with a flicker free refresh rate of 87 Hz at the maximum resolution of 1024 x 768. Dynamic focus adjustment across the whole screen ensures a sharp and clear picture.

Ergonomic and economic
Nokia 449ZA is TCO'99 compliant. TCO'99 states measurable requirements for the readability and stability of the display picture. Meeting the TCO'99 requirements, the picture of the Nokia 449ZA is, besides flicker free, free of excessive visual contrast, focus degradation at the edges, reflection from the front glass and other specified disturbing factors.

With TCO'99 also setting strict limits on electromagnetic emissions, the user can be certain that the Nokia 449ZA is safe as well as comfortable to work with.

Power consumption during use accounts for most of the running costs of a monitor. Research also shows that power consumption during use represents the largest part of a monitor's environmental impact during its life cycle. TCO'99 guidelines on display power consumption constitute the strictest current international standard. The Nokia 449ZA not only meets TCO'99 guidelines on power consumption, but typical consumption is well below the guideline values.

The Nokia 449ZA combines excellent picture performance with reliable audio capabilities. The integrated stereo sound system features space-saving, built-in speakers.

Easy to use
The user interface of the Nokia 449ZA features the familiar and acclaimed Nokia solution. There are direct access keys for the adjustment of brightness and contrast, the two most frequently adjusted picture characteristics. Other picture parameters can be adjusted by means of an On-Screen-Menu. The large variety of adjustment possibilities covers the screen position and geometric properties of the picture as well as colour adjustments.

The Nokia 449ZA is a Plug and Play monitor, with easy installation of peripherals. Designed for Windows 98 and Windows NT, the Nokia 449ZA is sure to be compatible with the latest PC environments.
