USB Audio Boost to Nokia DTC

Nokia's DTC display, designed for computer mediated communication, will be equipped with USB audio capabilities for enhanced audio performance and reduced system costs.
Installation also becomes simpler and system resources are freed.
The Nokia DTC is a CRT display equipped with integrated audio communication capabilities, with an integrated video camera optional. It is a flexible tool for audio and video conferencing at competitive system costs. Based on Nokia's proven digital signal processing expertise, Nokia DTC has an outstanding audio performance with effective echo cancellation.
No need of audio card in PC
Built on Windows 98, the USB audio upgrading of the Nokia DTC enables the user to dispense with a separate audio card in the PC. This reduces system costs and simplifies installation.
The audio signals of the USB audio upgraded Nokia DTC remain in digital form during use. This minimises analog interference, further improving the audio performance.
The upgraded Nokia DTC is available in two versions, an audio version and an audio-and-video version. The video version with an integrated video camera features analog video and supports both analog and digital use of audio. The user interface of the display includes selection of analog/digital audio use.
The characteristics of the audio output can be adjusted on-screen by means of Nokia's new Audio on Display software. The mouse-operated menus cater for adjustment of volume, bass, treble and balance. The Audio on Display is quick and easy to install from CD.

The USB audio upgraded Nokia DTC is fully compatible with Internet Protocol (IP) technology, the fast developing platform for sending data over the Internet. Voice over IP (VoIP) applications are spreading and growing at an extremely fast rate.
