Nokia introduces a compact addition to the Nokia IP Security Series: Nokia IP330
May 10, 1999
Nokia today launches the Nokia IP330, the latest innovation in its range of IP security solutions, aimed at securing the network and simplifying firewall deployment.
The Nokia IP330 is a member of the Nokia IP300 Series. The IP300 series leverages the performance and flexibility of the Nokia IP Security Series in an all new compact form. Nokia has re-designed the hardware to provide a highly cost-competitive, simple-to-deploy firewall. The much smaller size of the Nokia IP330 makes it ideal for deployment where space considerations are an important factor such as in customer premises installation. Nokia IP330 is an unbeatable choice for both small office and large-scale firewall deployments.
Nokia's integrated router/firewall model eliminates the need for separate intranet and Internet access routers in firewall applications. Everything that is needed to access the Internet while protecting the private network is pre-installed and pre-tested -true plug and play. Nokia continues to further develop the only integrated routing platform to support the full Check Point Firewall-1 feature set.
Nokia has developed its IP Security Solutions specifically to secure the network. While the Firewall software protects the network, routing is used to ensure network connectivity and provide resilience features. All products within Nokia IP Security Solutions family are designed to work together seamlessly, all based on the same network operating system. All products can be managed remotely by the Nokia Network Voyager web browser-based network management programme.
Notes to Editors
Nokia IP330 comes equipped with a standard three-port 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interface card and a CompactPCI (CPCI) slot that supports any one of the following network interface cards: single-port V.35 Serial, X.21 Serial, or T1 with built-in CSU/DSU. Remote management is also made easier through support for an optional analog modem.
Nokia is the world's leading mobile phone supplier and a leading supplier of mobile and fixed telecom networks including related customer services. Nokia also supplies solutions and products for fixed and wireless datacom, as well as multimedia terminals and computer displays. In 1998, net sales totaled EUR 13.3 billion (USD 15.7 billion). Headquartered in Finland, Nokia is listed on the New York (NOK), Helsinki, Stockholm, London, Frankfurt and Paris stock exchanges, has sales in over 130 countries and employs more than 47,000 people worldwide
