Connecting@Speed, with Nokia Speedlink and Nokia Wireless LAN

Nokia today launched at the Interop and Networld exhibition in Las Vegas, a revolutionarily solution that unites two of the most exciting aspects of communications, high speed Internet and wireless data access.
The solution comprises of various network elements, including high speed DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) equipment, advanced wireless LAN products, integrated network management and IP customer care and billing systems.
"Combining Nokia's world leading DSL solution and the innovative Nokia wireless LAN solution brings a new level of mobility and speed to the Internet" says Kari Suneli, Senior Vice President, IP and Access Solutions, Nokia Telecommunications.
System components include the Nokia Remote Access Node, Nokia M Network Terminals, Nokia Speedlink or Eksos B20 Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexers (DSLAMs) and Nokia Wireless LAN elements. The solution also incorporates the new Nokia IP Authenticator data server and Nokia's Datacom Customer Care and Billing system. The total solution includes system management and integration as well as customer services to help operators run their networks throughout the network lifecycle.
Nokia Wireless Laptop Connectivity is a comprehensive solution for wireless Local Area Network needs in business environments. The solution consists of a range of 802.11 Industry Standard compliant products including Nokia A020/A021 Wireless LAN Access Points and Nokia C020/C021 Wireless LAN Cards. The solution provides a 2 Mbps connection from fixed networks to the laptops enabling wireless transfer of graphics, videoconference and e-mails with large attachments. It operates in the 2.4-GHz frequency band and utilizes direct sequence radio technology which is immune to radio interference.
With the Nokia solution, operators can offer services ranging from simple Internet access for the mass market to advanced tailored services for individual users, such as remote working. A Wireless LAN provides ultimate flexibility for the remote office that is connected to the WAN via DSL. Additional PCs can be easily added to the network, peripherals can be shared and overall worker productivity enhanced. This can be achieved without the need for modifications or changes to the existing building. As an end-to-end solution, operators have control over the complete range of network systems, from the initial service request to provision of the bill.
