The Nokia 8800 Series makes its U.S. premiere on Broadway and sets standard for sophistication and elegance

Nokia has given an exclusive sneak preview of the U.S. versions of the Nokia 8800 Series.
Nokia 8860 (tri-mode AMPS/TDMA 800/TDMA 1900) was introduced to an invited audience of media, celebrities, show business and technology industry leaders at New York's Studio 54. The cast of the TonyTM Award-Winning Musical Cabaret, currently playing at Studio 54 to sell-out audiences, was on hand to assist with the introduction of the Nokia 8800. Already available in Europe and Asia, the Nokia 8800 Series will become available in North America beginning late summer 1999.
The Nokia 8860 features a distinctive, glossy chrome finish and offers powerful operation times with up to six days of stand-by time and up to 2.5 hours of talk-time (network dependent). The features include an alarm clock, electronic games, "personalization" enhancements including a selection from more up to 35 ringing tones, a directory that stores up to 250 names and numbers and four language options (English, French, Spanish and Portuguese).
