Nokia introduces software upgrade for set-top boxes from all major European satellites
May 17, 1999
Nokia offers all owners of the Nokia Mediamaster 9800 S the possibility to continuously download new software upgrades from all four major European satellites: Eutelsat, Sirius, Astra and Thor.
This is the fist time users can benefit from such an opportunity, and it ensures quick and easy access to new functionality and software applications.
The downloading procedure could not be simpler. the user enters the "Installation" menu, chooses "Software Upgrade" and follows the basic instructions. The actual download of new software takes 5-15 minutes.
Via the above four satellites, the user gets access to a wide array of both pay TV and free-to-air channels. More than 1000 channels are available today, and the Nokia Mediamaster 9800 S can store up to 2000 channels.
The Nokia Mediamaster 9800 S is due for launch this month in all major European markets.
