Nokia to open a new office in Vilnius, Lithuania

Nokia is today celebrating the inauguration of the new Nokia Vilnius office.
The new premises is situated in the Business Center Centrum, in the business area of the city of Vilnius.
"The purpose of Nokia's activities in Lithuania is to contribute to the overall economic growth and development of Lithuania by building communication networks using the latest technology as well as developing strong local expertise", says Mr. Egon Cronhjort, General Manager, UAB Nokia. "The focus is on marketing and sales of telecommunication infrastructure equipment and network solutions."
In connection with the inauguration of the new office, Nokia also announced two scholarships that will be offered for Lithuanian students in telecommunication technology in order to reinforce educational cooperation. The scholarships will offer two students from Lithuanian technical universities a possibility to complete their education in the Helsinki University of Technology, International Master's Programme in Telecommunications.
Nokia currently supplies strategic telecommunications infrastructure equipment to Lietuvos Telekomas, Omnitel and Comliet. Nokia mobile phones are the most popular phones in Lithuania.
