Nokia opens a research and development unit in Aalborg, Denmark

Nokia will further strengthen its research and development operations in Denmark by establishing a new research and development unit in Aalborg, Denmark.
The unit will concentrate on software development for mobile phones, and it will complement the work of Nokia' s product creation centre in Copenhagen. The Aalborg R&D unit will be operational on 1 July 1999.
"The city of Aalborg is one of the leading educational centres in Denmark, and Nokia wishes to offer R&D job opportunities in the fastest growing field of the electronics industry, mobile telecommunications," says Birger Jurs, Head of Business, R&D Site Copenhagen, Nokia Mobile Phones.
"Research and development is international teamwork, and we are continuously looking for opportunities to strengthen our R&D competence in key technology areas.
