The SuperFlat Nokia 447PRO - Top Performer for Demanding Users
March 18, 1999
The 17-inch Nokia 447PRO is the first Nokia display to feature flat screen Aperture Grille (AG) picture tube technology.
The new SuperFlat CRT display is a top performer for demanding professional applications. Marked by absence of reflection and distortion, the consistent picture of the Nokia 447PRO will come into its own in professional use. Conforming to Nokia Family design and fully compliant to TCO'99 standard, the Nokia 447PRO is exceptionally ergonomic and enjoyable to work with.
Indisputably superior image performance
With the SuperFlat Nokia 447PRO, Nokia sets the trend in the image performance of 17-inch monitors. Thanks to the flat screen AG technology and fast video, the Nokia 447PRO projects a highly realistic picture, which has less distortions and reflections than the picture of a conventional CRT display.
The SuperFlat Nokia 447PRO features Nokia's new electron gun which produces denser, tighter electron beams. The image of the new display is flicker free up to the maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024 at a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The recommended resolution of 1024 x 768 the refresh rate is 120Hz. Horizontal frequency is autosynchronised from 30 to 96 kHz. The Nokia 447PRO will include an ICC display profile produced using color management technology from Eastman Kodak Company.
The Nokia 447PRO displays clear, crisp images with rich colours even at the highest resolutions. The razor sharp picture can be adjusted in many dimensions, making the display an ideal choice for demanding multi-application environments, such as engineering and desktop imaging. Professionals will appreciate the accuracy of edges provided by the small AG pitch of 0.24-0.25 mm.
The ultra high contrast and strong, vivid colours are further elements of the picture performance of the Nokia 447PRO. The luminance output of 100 candelas the per square metre ensures a uniformly bright picture. NokiaCoating reduces screen reflection to a minimum, enabling the user to enjoy the images with ultra high contrast without eyestrain.
TCO'99 certified advanced ergonomics
Launched towards the end of 1998, the TCO'99 standard for visual ergonomics, power consumption, electromagnetic emissions and environmental impact is the strictest in the world. The Nokia 447PRO comfortably clears the TCO'99 requirements. Take power consumption in different operating modes. The Nokia 447PRO consumes less than 3 W electricity in the power saving off-mode, as against TCO'99 requirement of 5 W.
In addition to TCO'99, the Nokia 447PRO meets the TÜV-GS, TÜV-ERGONOMIE, ISO 9241-3, -7, -8 standards on ergonomics and safety as well as the Designed for Microsoft Windows®98 standard.
Familiar Nokia ease of use
The user interface of the Nokia 447PRO is exceptionally simple and easy to operate. There are separate easy access controls for adjustment of brightness, contrast and audio volume. All other adjustments are carried out by means of the acclaimed Nokia NaviTM Key, single press and rotate knob. The display offers a large variety of adjustment possibilities including password setting.
The installation and use of the 447PRO is as easy as with all Nokia displays. The display fully supports Plug & Play installation of peripheral devices as included in the Windows 98 auto-installation standard for easy, trouble-free configuration. The Nokia 447PRO features a powered USB hub with 4 downstream and 1 upstream ports for convenient and easy adding and detaching of USB peripherals. The display supports the mouse-controlled Nokia DisplayWareTM adjustment software.
