The Nokia Value Line Means Business
March 18, 1999

Nokia's new Value Line displays offer corporate users competitive tools for all types of information processing and communication tasks.

The choice of exactly the right tool is easy as the Nokia ZA displays have the same performance features in all the screen sizes, which cover the whole range from 17 through19 to 21 inches. Designed with business graphics and business audio applications in mind, the image and audio performance of the Nokia ZA displays stand out in this price/performance category.

The advantages of a bigger monitor screen are overwhelming in today's multi-application PC environment. The Nokia Value line provides a competitive ladder for the move up the size scale. The 17-inch Nokia 447ZA is a quality choice for the move from 15 to 17-inch screen, topical in many markets. The Nokia 446ZA provides a competitive entry into the fast-growing 19-inch segment, and the Nokia 445ZA extends the range of everyday business displays to 21-inch screens.

Excellent picture and audio qualities
The picture of the Nokia ZA displays is clear and sharp up to the highest resolutions. At the top resolution of 1280x1024 the refresh rates range from 80 to 100 Hz, guaranteeing flicker free images. Top horizontal frequencies range from the Nokia 447ZA's 86 kHz to the Nokia 445ZA's 110 kHz. Dynamic focus adjustment across the whole screen, high contrast and vivid colours enhance the picture performance. The Nokia Value line displays will also include an ICC display profile produced using color management technology from Eastman Kodak Company.

The Nokia ZA displays thrives in the fast developing world of computer graphics, ranging from business applications to the increasingly visual language of the Internet. The business audio capabilities of the Nokia ZA displays open the door to another fast developing world, the world of voice communication. The 5 W active speakers and the directional microphone can be put to work e.g. in office applications of speech recognition, Internet telephony and other interactive audio applications.

Ergonomic, safe and environmentally sound
The ergonomics, safety and environmental impact of the Nokia 447ZA, Nokia 446ZA and Nokia 445ZA are designed to carry the highest available stamp of approval, TCO'99 labelling. Launched towards the end of 1998, TCO'99 approval is based on the strictest requirements in the world on visual ergonomics, power consumption, electromagnetic emissions and environmental compatibility. With power consumption during use accounting for the largest part of the environmental impact of a display, it is of special significance that the power consumption of the Nokia ZA displays is 30 per cent below the stringent TCO'99 guideline.

The visually ergonomic picture of the Nokia Value Line displays is uniformly bright and has a high luminance output, while distortion and linearity error are minimal.

Ease of use
The Nokia ZA displays feature the easy-to-use Nokia user interface. This involves easy-access adjustment of brightness, contrast and audio volume, which are the most often adjusted picture and sound characteristics. Other picture and audio parameters are adjusted with the help of the familiar on-screen menu. The large number of adjustment options includes password setting.

It is another ease-of-use feature of the Nokia 447ZA, 446ZA and 445ZA that they fully support the Plug & Play standard. Plug & Play systems are able to reconfigure themselves automatically whenever a new PC card or peripheral is added to the system.

Nokia is the world's leading mobile phone supplier and a leading supplier of mobile and fixed telecom networks including related customer services.
