November 19, 1998
Nokia and Vodafone, the leading mobile network operator in the UK have signed a contract for the provision of turnkey services for Vodafone's GSM900 site roll-out in the North of England and Scotland. The agreement is valued at around GBP 15 million.
Work covering radio frequency planning, site acquisition, civil works and site build, equipment installation, programme management and commissioning for the initial phase is expected to be completed by end of March 1999.
"We selected Nokia to roll-out our network because of their proven track record in customer services.
