Orlando, FL - Paragon Software announced today the introduction of FoneSync, a PC-based, voice-centric software application that allows users to share contact information between leading personal information managers (PIMs) and digital wireless phones.

FoneSync works with mainstream software applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Organizer and Symantec ACT!, allowing wireless phone users to access up to 250 names and phone numbers at the touch of a button. A drag and drop function permits electronic business cards from e-mails, the Internet and PC desktops to be placed directly into wireless phones, turning digital handsets into electronic address books.

"Mobile workers need to feel connected", said Mark Lowenstein, the Yankee Group's Vice President of Wireless/Mobile Communications Research and Consulting. "And they don't want to have to re-key their contact database when they get a new phone. FoneSync is yet another important step in creating the convergence of communications and computing devices, and capitalizes on the track record of PIM devices that synchronize a professional's desktop and mobile worlds."

FoneSync is supported by most major digital wireless handset manufacturers, including Nokia, Ericsson, Sony, Mitsubishi and others. Both Nokia and Ericsson have established licensing agreements with Paragon to develop software applications for their digital phones. FoneSync is the first product in this new accessory software category.

"Our partnership with Paragon offers Nokia an opportunity to capitalize on a rapidly emerging software category that addresses the communications needs of our customers," said Matt Wisk, Nokia vice president, national marketing. "By offering Paragon software capabilities, we'll be on the cutting edge of a new suite of applications that will enable our customers to get even more from their digital wireless phones." FoneSync is compatible with Nokia 2100, Nokia 5100 and Nokia 6100 series digital wireless phones.

"Linking the organizer features and functionalities of PCs and wireless phones will revolutionize communication in the next millennium," said Colin Calder, managing director, Paragon Software. "As a pioneering product driving this trend, FoneSync has been enthusiastically endorsed by leaders of both the PC and wireless worlds. We are very excited about playing a leading role in bringing these two global markets closer together."

Based in the UK, Paragon Software is a privately-held firm that provides quality software packages that allow mobile phone consumers to stay organized and stay connected. Paragon caters to product manufacturers and service providers who want to offer technologically advanced accessory applications for their users. Utilizing the latest mobile communications technologies, Paragon offers a range of products that will revolutionize the way people communicate and manage personal and professional relationships.
