Nokia delivers Synfonet Access Node for Well.COM in Austria
June 24, 1998
Austrian operator Well.COM Data Highway Burgenland GmbH has selected Nokia to supply its Synfonet® SDH equipment for its new network in operation since early this year.
The network is covering one of Austria's nine federal provinces, Burgenland, offering voice and data services to business and SOHO (Small Office Home Office) users. Well.COM chose the Nokia Synfonet SDH solution including STM-1/4 and Nokia Synfonet Access Node (SAN), the Nokia NMS network management system NMS/10 and other Nokia access solutions.
"We chose Nokia because of its easy to manage leading edge SDH technology. Nokia's Synfonet solution is easy to install but more importantly we know it can grow with our network demands," says Mr Herbert Nagy, General Manager of Well.COM.
Mr Vesa Tykkyläinen, Vice President, System Marketing and Sales, Nokia Telecommunications says: "We are delighted to have been chosen as an SDH supplier to Well.COM. This achievement demonstrates our commitment to Well.COM and the selection of the Nokia Synfonet solution proves its capabilities in ever-growing and demanding environments."
Well.COM is a fixed operator offering services to different sized companies in Burgenland and to local municipal and government. Well.COM's ownership is shared between the power utility Bewag, gas utility Begas, and Wibag, a local venture agency.
