Nokia Display Products, Inc. Adds Integrated Business Audio to 17-inch Pro Series Monitor

447Xpro /a Retains Pro Series Quality, Gains High-End Sound
Nokia Display Products, Inc., a leading developer of high-quality display technologies, today announced the introduction of the 447Xpro /a 17-inch monitor (15.8"viewable), an audio enhanced version of its current 447Xpro display. The 447Xpro /a features the same benefits of the 447Xpro - including outstanding refresh rates and crisp, flicker-free images - and also boasts the addition of high-quality multimedia features such as speakers and a microphone.

Multimedia Features
With special shielding designed to offer superb sound quality without interfering with the clarity of the display, the 447Xpro /a sports an integrated stereo amplifier with a pair of hefty 5-watt speakers in both sides of the front bezel. It also features a fixed microphone fitted into the top center of the monitor. Connectors on the side of the monitor include 3.5mm headphone and microphone jacks for external conferencing devices, such as a headset. The addition of the speakers and microphone does not increase the overall footprint of the product.
Additional Features
The 447Xpro /a operates at a refresh rate of 90 Hz with a resolution of 1280 x 1024, and has a remarkable horizontal scan frequency of 96 kHz, creating sharp, flicker-free images. The 0.25mm aperture grill pitch displays excellent color output and image detail. The 447Xpro /a is compatible with PC, Macintosh and workstation (Sun, UNIX) applications.
The 447Xpro /a was designed with the single-button Nokia Navi™Key user interface for easy and intuitive control of picture shape, color, clarity and audio. Navi™Key is exclusive to Nokia and consists of a rotate-and-press knob on the front panel to control the On Screen Menu (OSM). The 447Xpro /a features two new OSM functions, the auto-shape selection which allows the user to automatically set the picture parameter for size and position, and a password protection function for private access to OSM controls. Separate controls for brightness, contrast and volume are included on the monitor's front panel for fast and easy access to these commonly used adjustments.
As with all Nokia monitors, the 447Xpro /a is TCO'95 certified. TCO'95 sets the world's most rigid safety guidelines regarding electromagnetic emissions, ergonomics and power consumption, and prohibits the use of environmentally harmful chemicals during manufacturing. The 447Xpro /a also meets the most recent guidelines set by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). VESA™ GTF™ (Generalized Timing Formula) standardizes a method for generating user-defined custom resolutions and refresh rates while ensuring perfect geometry.

The Nokia 447Xpro /a is available immediately through authorized resellers and distributors at an estimated street price of $699. The 447Xpro /a has a mean time between failures (MTBF) of 80,000 hours and ships with a three-year limited warranty.
