HanseNet partner Telecom Finland GmbH opts for Nokia for DX 220 switching technology

Telecom Finland GmbH, in the future known as Sonera Deutschland GmbH, a co-partner of the HanseNet Telefongesellschaft MbH, and Nokia Telecommunications have signed a contract to supply the DX 220 digital switching platform for the new Hamburg city network. The special benefit of this switching system is the seamless integration of Telecom Finland's Intelligent Network (IN), which will add new attractive and market-proven services to the HanseNet portfolio of services.
Nokia were able to install the switching technology in record time. “It was the technical and innovative aspects of the service, together with their international experience, which led us to work with Nokia, as well as their direct and friendly way to cooperate and their strong commitment,” according to Detlev Kostyra, Managing Director at Telecom Finland GmbH in Düsseldorf. Jörns Haberstroh, Managing Director, Nokia Telecommunications GmbH, emphasizes, “Nokia sees co-operation as a partnership in which each party can contribute its core skills.”
Dr. Burkhardt Schwäbe, Managing Director of HanseNet Telefongesellschaft MbH, points out the numerous benefits of the new switching system, "The DX 220 switch meets all the requirements regarding services in one switch, including Telecom Finland's IN-services. It offers our customers a broad portfolio of competitive, market-oriented and modern services. And we can extend our network incrementally, in order to provide our customers with the required bandwidth.“
The DX 220 switching platform supports fixed network applications from PSTN/ISDN to Intelligent Networks and also offers a growth path to broadband applications. Nokia has delivered its DX 220 switching solutions to around 120 operators in over 30 countries around the world.
