Telia chooses Nokia to supply test equipment for broadband ADSL trials
April 27, 1998
Telia AB, Sweden, has chosen Nokia as one of the potential suppliers for its planned broadband ADSL introduction. Nokia will deliver its latest broadband ADSL equipment for testing and evaluation this summer, 1998.
The delivery will include the Eksos broadband access node and modems from Nokia’s Eksos family as well as Nokia’s state-of-the-art Network Management System (NMS).
As part of its ambitious plans, Telia aims to introduce ADSL broadband technologies on a large scale to both residential and small home office (SOHO) customers. It is envisaged that the equipment will support services such as remote working and very high-speed Internet over the coming years.
