Nokia Display Products Names Cunningham Communication, Inc. and Shafer as New Marketing Communications Partners
March 16, 1998
Nokia Display Products, Inc., an industry leader in the development of display technology, today announced Palo Alto-based Cunningham Communication, Inc. and San Francisco-based Shafer as its public relations and advertising agencies of record respectively, as part of a major marketing initiative to increase awareness of Nokia Display Products in the Fortune 200 marketplace.
"As a leader in display technology, Nokia requires the best resources to support its marketing efforts," said John Grundy, vice president of marketing at Nokia Display Products. "We make the best computer monitors on the market and need to increase awareness of the quality and benefits of using Nokia's European engineered displays. Cunningham and Shafer have proven track records in successfully demonstrating the quality of their client's products and in helping them increase their share of the available market."
Cunningham will help reinforce Nokia's current position in the display technology segment and will work with Shafer to expand Nokia's enterprise market share through a collaborative advertising and public relations plan.
"Nokia is known for its quality products throughout the world. Customers and industry experts praise the quality, reliability, safety and overall design of Nokia's display products. With those attributes, Nokia has the potential to greatly expand its share of the display market," said Andy Cunningham, president of Cunningham Communication, Inc. "We are proud to be their partner and help increase market awareness of Nokia's products."
Shafer's mission is to clearly position Nokia in the U.S. display products marketplace, and dramatically raise awareness for the Nokia brand among a targeted audience. The agency is directing all its efforts at maximum impact: a lively mix of interesting creative, out of the box media strategy, event-tie-ins, and integrated Web and off-Web promotions.
"Nokia is the leader in engineering monitors to the highest standards in the world - Europe's," said Andy Getsey, Shafer President. "With that commitment to excellence as the foundation, plus their desire to think unconventionally, we're really excited about our opportunity to add significant value in building the Nokia monitor brand here in the North American IT market. Nokia has everything we look for in a great new client."
