March 04, 1998
Nokia Display Products today announced that its 445Xavc and 447Xavc monitors will be delivered together with Intel Business Video Conferencing System 4.0. Corporate users can now easily acquire a desktop system with the ability to hold interactive audio, video and data exchanges.
"Many of our customers need videoconferencing and other computer-mediated communication services to help them leap the barriers of time and space. By combining Intel's iBVC 4.0 with Nokia 445Xavc and 447Xavc monitors, we add the capability of real-time face-to-face communication to our award-winning line of monitors", said Timo Ellilä, Vice President, Product Management at Nokia Display Products.
Intel Business Video Conferencing System, based on Intel's industry leading ProShare® technology, can operate across a variety of transmission media, including ISDN, LAN and the Internet. Additional features available with iBVC 4.0 include the ability to exchange high-resolution images in a photo album-like database, control the amount of bandwidth used in making a video conference call on LANs and find other video conference system users through a call directory service.
Available through Nokia distributors and their dealers, Nokia 445Xavc and 447Xavc are integrated product solutions that include a camera, speakers and a microphone. In addition to the monitor, customers need an Intel-based PC with Windows* 95 or Windows NT* Workstation 4.0 and Intel iBVC 4.0.
"Intel offer businesses the best investment protection because we deliver both the current H.320 and the future H.323communications standards in one video conferencing product," said Scott Darling, general manager for the Intel Business Communications Products Operation. "By integrating IBVC 4.0 with its 445Xavc and 447Xavc monitors, Nokia offers a complete, integrated solution to its customers."
