Nokia opens Regional Technology Centre in Thailand

Nokia today announced the official opening of its new Regional Technology Centre to expand its services to its customers, telecom operators, in the South-East Asia and Pacific region. The Centre is located in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Technology Centre provides technical support facilities for Nokia’s cellular and fixed customers. The target of the Centre is to ensure the availability, functionality and competitiveness of Nokia customers’ networks and to assist these customers in further developing advanced services. In addition, the Centre offers support for customers´ operations and maintenance of their networks, including 24-hour emergency support service.
The Centre also includes the Technical Training Centre, which is an expansion of the facilities first established in Bangkok in 1994. It offers a wide range of training on Nokia’s key technologies such as GSM, NMT, PDH and SDH to both Nokia’s customers as well as to its own technical staff. Nokia training services include a wide range of competence development packages from introductory, intermediate and advanced courses to training consulting, on-the-job training, customised training solutions, assessment and certification. The Technical Training Centre is expected to have over 18,000 students during next year.
