Nokia Launches a New Mobile Phone for the German C-Tel Network

Nokia today introduced a new analog handportable for the German C-Tel network. The Nokia C6 mobile phone has the award-winning Nokia design resembling the famous Nokia 2110. The product is currently selling and will be available in volumes in January 1998. The Nokia C6 offers a large display with clear menus and high quality analog sound. The phone weighs 265 grams with the standard battery. With the extended battery, the stand by time is up to 32 hours and the talk time is up to 5 hours. The phone is sold co-branded with the German operator T-Mobil.
The Nokia C6 offers a great set of features. It has a dial memory of 99 names and numbers in addition to the SIM card memory. The language options are German and English. The Nokia C6 has 7 ringing tones and a Timer Alarm function. A wide range of accessories is available for the Nokia C6, including a complete hands free car kit for convenient use in a vehicle. The accessories are compatible with the Nokia 2110.
C-Tel is a nationwide analog cellular network in Germany. The network has been in operation since 1985 and it has excellent coverage across the country. C-Tel currently has approximately 500 000 subscribers.
