NOKIA display products expands their new PRO series with the addition of new 17 and 19-inch monitors
November 17, 1997
Diversity Offers Business Customers Plenty of High-Performance Choices
Las Vegas, NV (COMDEX) - Nokia Display Products, Inc., an industry leader in the development of display technology, today announced the introduction of the 446Xpro 19-inch (17.7" viewable) and 447Xpro 17-inch (15.8" viewable) monitors. Both products offer blazing refresh rates and deliver crisp flicker-free images, greatly reducing user eye fatigue. Nokia established the Pro Series last month with the introduction of the 445Xpro 21-inch (20" viewable) monitor. Both the 446Xpro and 447Xpro maintain the high standard of performance set by the 445Xpro, and now customers have additional performance options when deciding on monitor size.
"Nokia has always offered our customers top-rated products with unsurpassed reliability," said John Grundy, vice president of marketing at Nokia Display Products. "The Pro Series sets a new standard by delivering superb image quality, while meeting the most stringent safety guidelines."
Market-Leading 19-Inch Monitor
The 446Xpro is the first 19-inch monitor on the market to offer a horizontal line frequency of 107kHz, an asset for advanced imaging applications. Operating at a refresh rate of 85hz with a resolution of 1600 x 1200, the 446Xpro delivers clear images in a flicker-free environment. Nokia’s maiden offering in the 19-inch monitor market, the 446Xpro has exceptional versatility. Graphic designers and imaging professionals alike will welcome the monitor’s remarkable performance. With 17.7 inches of diagonal viewing area and a .21mm horizontal mask pitch, the 446Xpro is the natural solution for users considering a larger monitor for complex imaging tasks, but are reluctant to upgrade to a 21-inch due to space constraints.
Technologically Enhanced 17" Monitor
The 447Xpro is the latest addition to Nokia’s line of established 17-inch monitors. Its exceptional refresh rate of 90hz at a resolution of 1280 x 1024 creates crisp images without a hint of screen flicker. With a .25mm aperture grill pitch, the 447Xpro delivers brilliant images with amazing clarity, suitable for high-end graphics applications in both the Macintosh and Windows platforms. The image quality is further enhanced by Nokia’s own NokiaCoating, which minimizes glare to less than one percent. Unlike conventional anti-glare coating, NokiaCoating reduces glare without negatively affecting focus performance.
Standard Features
The more advanced the imaging task, the more important fine-tuning adjustments becomes. Navi-Keyô is a standard feature throughout the Pro Series, allowing one-button access to intuitive on-screen menus. For even quicker adjustments, the more commonly used brightness and contrast control knobs are conveniently located on the front bezel.
In accordance with the complete line of Nokia’s monitors, both the 446Xpro and 447Xpro are certified TCO'95. TCO'95 sets the world’s most rigid guidelines regarding electromagnetic emissions, ergonomics and power consumption, as well as prohibits the use of harmful chemicals during manufacturing.
The Pro Series also meets the most recent guidelines set by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). VESATM GTFTM (Generalized Timing Formula) brings standardization throughout the monitor market defining a method for generating general purpose display timings, ensuring minimal user eye fatigue due to screen flicker.
Both monitors ship with a three-year limited warranty. But with the demonstrated mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeding 100,000 hours, customers are assured years of trouble-free use.
Pricing and Availability
The Nokia 446Xpro is available immediately at an estimated street price of $1,099. The Nokia 447Xpro is available immediately at an estimated street price of $759. Nokia displays are available through authorized resellers and distributors.
