Nokia and Fujian PTA form a new joint venture in China

Nokia and Fujian PTA have signed an agreement for the establishment of a new joint venture in China. The main activities of the joint venture will be in the field of GSM 900/1800 technical services, primarily network planning and optimisation.
Contributing greatly to the transfer of technological competence to the telecom operator, Fujian PTA, the joint venture will cover not only technical support, network planning and optimisation work on Fujian PTA´s network, but also specialized training. Eventually the services will also be offered to other telecom operators in China with networks supplied by Nokia.
"This is Nokia´s sixth joint venture in China and reaffirms Nokia´s commitment to Fujian PTA and to the Chinese telecommunications community as a whole," states Folke Ahlbäck, Senior Vice President, Nokia, Greater China. "Network planning and optimisation is an area of increasing importance in order to secure the capacity, coverage and quality of large cellular networks. This cooperation will give both Nokia and Fujian PTA valuable insight into the efficient expansion of large networks."
