Nokia to Supply Fixed Network Solutions to Tele1 Europe, Sweden

Nokia and Tele1 Europe, have signed an agreement for the supply of fixed network solutions in Sweden. The deliveries and network build will commence immediately.
The contract includes the supply of Nokia's flexible DX 200 fixed switches and the Nokia SYNFONET SDH solution. Using the Nokia equipment, Tele1 Europe will be providing services to communications-intensive corporations all over Scandinavia. Initially the network will serve Stockholm, Göteborg, Malmö, Örebro, Oslo and Copenhagen. The network will soon be expanded to several other areas throughout Scandinavia.
"We see Nokia as very much a partner in the development of our fixed networks, both in Sweden and overseas," states Mr. Ivar Strömberg, Managing Director of Tele1 Europe. "We have a very strong belief in Nokia's capabilities as a total network supplier, and we are therefore very pleased to sign this agreement with them."

Tele1 Europe is a new fixed operator, focusing mainly on medium to large corporations. The ownership of the company is shared between Kunskapskontoret (47,5%) and a consortium of three Norwegian investors. The remaining 5% share is held by the management of Tele1 Europe.
Nokia Telecommunications develops and manufactures infrastructure equipment and systems for fixed and cellular networks. Nokia's switching solutions and applications are built on the DX 200 switching platform, used in cellular and fixed applications alike. The DX 200 also offers a growth path to broadband applications, including future developments in ATM voice switching technology. Nokia has delivered its DX 200 switching solutions to around 120 operators in over 30 countries around the world. Nokia's SYNFONET SDH solutions enable operators to flexibly build their networks ready for future data and broadband solutions. Nokia's SYNFONET SDH solutions have been sold to more than 60 operators in some 20 countries.
