Nokia Provides GSM Expansion for Telenor Mobil in Norway
April 15, 1997

Telenor Mobil, the mobile operating unit of Telenor, the Norwegian public operator, and Nokia Telecommunications have entered an agreement on the expansion of Telenor Mobil's GSM network. The expansion agreement is valued at approximately NOK 50 million.

Among the base station solutions will be the ultra small Nokia PrimeSite concept. Nokia PrimeSite base stations will allow Telenor Mobil to better focus coverage in specifically-targeted areas. To date, Telenor Mobil has implemented Nokia base station solutions in mid-western and northern regions of the country.

Since 1994, Nokia has delivered to Telenor Mobil GSM base station subsystems and planning tools. Nokia has also supplied a large number of base stations to Telenor for its NMT 450 and NMT 900 networks. Recently Nokia also made an agreement with Telenor Mobile for the expansion of its NMT 450 and NMT 900 networks.
