Nokia Expands NMT Networks in Norway

Telenor Mobil of Norway and Nokia Telecommunications have signed a two-year frame agreement for the expansion of Telenor Mobil's NMT (Nordic Mobile Telephone) networks. The value of the contract is approximately NOK 50 million.


Nokia will deliver its base stations to Telenor Mobil's NMT 450 and 900 networks. Nokia has been delivering its base stations to Telenor Mobil for the last ten years.

Telenor Mobil is a mobile operating unit of the Norwegian Telecom. It operates NMT 450 and NMT 900 analogue networks as well as digital GSM network. In NMT 450 network Telenor Mobile has approximately 190,000 subscribers and it covers the whole country. In NMT 900 it has approx. 295,000 subscribers covering all of Southern Norway and cities and major roads in Northern Norway.
