Nokia Mobile Phones announces the launch of the Nokia 1611, an improved version of the popular Nokia 1610 digital consumer phone. The Nokia 1611 is a stylish and affordable quality handset which boasts the longest operation times in the market. The product features a new power option, the solar battery. The phone will be available in GSM markets in Europe starting from the end of January.
The Nokia 1611 offers impressive operating times: talk time with standard battery is is up to 3 h 30 minutes and standby time up to 110 hours. With the extended battery, the Nokia 1611 stands by up to 9 days and provides up to 7 hours talk time.
The introduction of the solar cell battery option makes the Nokia 1611 the first product to offer new innovative power management solutions. The solar battery can be charged with a standard charger or simply by placing the phone in a sunny place, allowing the solar panel on the back to recharge the battery. This unique option makes the Nokia 1611 the most mobile phone under the sun. Solar batteries will be available in volumes in April.

A full range of accessories is available for the Nokia 1611.
