Nokia Expands its Base Station Production in Oulu, Finland

Nokia Telecommunications will expand its base station production in Oulu, Finland because of the increase in market demand for base stations. The base stations will be manufactured at new premises near the existing factory starting from Spring 1997.
In 1995, Nokia Telecommunications expanded its base station production in Oulu with new R&D premises and production capacity. Oulu is one of Nokia's most important production locations in Finland.
In addition to Oulu, Nokia manufactures base stations in the UK, United States, Australia and China.
The Nokia Group has approximately 4,700 employees in the Oulu area. The new manufacturing site will employ some 300 people.
