Nokia Supplies GSM Mobile Switching System to India

Evergrowth Telecom Ltd. of India and Nokia Telecommunications have signed an agreement for the supply of a GSM Mobile Switching System. The value of the agreement is approximately USD 10 million.
Nokia will deliver to India its DX 200 mobile switching center, home location register, operation and maintenance center and a short message service center. In addition, the agreement includes technical support services.
Evergrowth Telecom Ltd., a company formed by J.T.Mobile Ltd., has been awarded a licence to operate GSM network in the state of Punjab in India. Evergrowth Telecom Ltd. will be launching the service under the well-known name "Essar Cellphone" by December.
