Nokia supplies DX 200 switching system technology to Netcom Systems Denmark
September 09, 1996

Nokia has been awarded a contract to supply DX 200 digital switching system technology on a turnkey basis to Netcom Systems Denmark, one of the first new telecommunications companies to deliver fixed line telephony to the de-regulated Danish market.

The digital Nokia DX 200 switching system technology will enable Netcom Systems Denmark to offer its customers advanced services based on the latest digital technology, and expansion possibilities in capacity and functionality. The Nokia DX 200 technology will handle the international traffic of Netcom Systems Denmark.

The value of the contract over the next few years is tens of millions FIM and first deliveries have already started. Nokia is also supplying installation, implementation, service and maintenance.

Netcom System Denmark is a part of the Swedish telecommunications group of companies, Netcom Systems, that also includes the Swedish Tele2. In only three years Tele2 has reached a 24% share of the Swedish market. Netcom Systems is a daughter company in the Kinnevik corporation. Nokia has supplied Tele2 with equipment since 1991 and in July 1996 the two signed a contract for more digital switching for the Swedish company.
