Nokia Opens Office in Indonesia

Nokia Telecommunications establishes subsidiary
Nokia, Finland-based telecommunications group, has opened an office in Jakarta, Indonesia. The new office was officially opened today by Mr. Jorma Ollila, President and CEO of Nokia Group.
At the same time Nokia Telecommunications, the infrastructure part of Nokia Group, announced the establishment of a subsidiary, P.T. Nokia Telecommunications. To provide the customers with full service in Indonesia, P.T. Nokia Telecommunications will build a Customer Service Center (CSC), the team of which will consist of both local and international engineers. Altogether the headcount of Nokia's Indonesian operations is expected to reach 65 by the end of the year. Nokia Representative Office's mission will continue to be product promotion.
Nokia has had business operations in Indonesia for the past ten years. During this time Nokia Representative Office's main activities have been promoting the Nokia transmission systems to the operators and dedicated network users through its agent P.T. Inka Forindo Jaya, and data communication products through P.T. Texacom Hitek System, Nokia Telecommunication's customers have included P.T. Mobilkom Telekomindo, Pertamina, P.T. Telkom, PLN and National Railway Company.
Nokia Mobile Phones started distributing mobile phones in Indonesia to the NMT cellular network called Rajasa Hazanah Perkasa in 1986. Presently Nokia Mobile Phones has established relationships with distributors such as P.T. Harucom and P.T. Amcol Citra Gallery as well as with cellular operator such as Satelindo, Telkomsel, Komselindo and Mobisel.
