Nokia launches a new handportable for NMT 450

Nokia Mobile Phones introduces a new phone for the NMT 450 standard. The Nokia 450 is a small and lightweight analogue phone with new features and long operating times. It will be available in Europe starting from March 1996.
The Nokia 450 is ideally suited to people who need more than a phone with the basic functions. Weighing only 250 grams with a standard battery, the Nokia 450 is the smallest and lightest in its class.
The Nokia 450 offers added functionality and stylish design. The large clear display and retractable antenna provide ease-of use The range of language options for the Nokia 450 is unmatched by any other phone: menu texts come in 20 languages, including Russian. The optional 7 Watt booster offers the widest coverage area enabling high mobility. Due to its capability to search for the best base station in a weak field, the Nokia 450 is the most reliable tool for uninterrupted mobile communications anywhere in the network.
The advanced power management system allows optimized power consumption. The Nokia 450 offers up to 3 hours and 30 minutes of talk time and over 4 days (111 hours) of standby with the extended battery.
A full range of accessories is available for the Nokia 450. Since many people use both GSM and NMT phones, the accessories for the new phone have been designed to be fully compatible with those of the Nokia 2100 GSM products.
The Nokia 450 supports data services, enabling the wireless transmission of electronic mail and telefaxes from a PCMCIA compatible portable computer.
