The Nokia 1610 Sets New Standards for Standby Time -New GSM handportable from Nokia

Nokia Mobile Phones launches an innovative and stylish handportable for use on digital GSM networks. The Nokia 1610 is a compact and cost-effective phone with excellent talk and standby times. The phone will be available in Europe and Asia starting from the beginning of March.

The Nokia 1610 offers up to seven hours talk time and eight days (200 hours) standby time, presently the longest available on the market. The phone can store up to 199 names and numbers. Its full-size SIM (Subscriber Identification Module) card slot offers flexibility and added convenience as it can also use the small-size SIM card with an adapter.
The Nokia 1610 incorporates the acclaimed user-friendly Nokia interface - with easy-to-use alphanumeric memory, menu help texts, logical keypad layout and a large LCD display. It provides a dedicated voice mail key and allows one-touch dialling. The phone supports digital features including international roaming and short message service.
The widest range of accessories is available for the Nokia 1610. The Power Management System provides for rapid 45-minute recharging and even allows users to operate the phone while recharging a flat battery. The Nokia 1610 also has several other charging options including a mobile charger and a mobile installation charger. Other accessories include car kits and colourful phone covers.
