Autoliv and Nokia Negotiate Joint Venture

Autoliv Ab, a Swedish company specialized in safety belts and air bag systems (or in passenger safety systems) and Nokia Audio & Electronics Ab, a subsidiary of Nokia have entered into negotiations to form a joint venture for development and production of air bag electronics control.
The new company will be 50/50 owned by both parties and located at Nokia premises in Motala. The new company will take over the current air bag electronics business from Nokia Audio & Electronics AB. The personnel of NAE AB, which is currently working within air bag electronics business, will move to new company.
The venture will be subject to approval by the EU commission.
This joint venture will improve possibilities for closer cooperation between Autoliv and Nokia in the development and production of current and future air gab system generations.
