Nokia supplies SDH transmission equipment to Telivo in Finland
September 09, 1995
Telivo, the Finnish long distance telephone operator, and Nokia Telecommunications have signed an agreement for the supply of SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) equipment to Telivo's nationwide broadband network.
Nokia delivers to Telivo STM1 and STM4 transmission equipment as well as TMS-OS transmission management system. Deliveries have already began and they will continue till 1997.
SDH equipment improves the capacity and availability in the telecommunication network. It enables the operator to, e.g. supervise and allocate network resources for optimal performance at any time. SDH is also a platform for future telecommunication services.
Telivo is one of Finland's three long distance telephone operators and started its operations in 1994. Telivo is owned by stated owned energy company IVO.
