Nokia signs a contract to deliver GSM network to Shanghai

Nokia Telecommunications has signed a contract to deliver the second phase of China Unicom GSM network in Shanghai.
Nokia deliveries will expand the system capacity by 30.000 subscribers to total of 50.000 subscribers.
Nokia is delivering a total base station subsystem, operation and maintenance centre and radio network planning tools. Additionally, Nokia provides complete turn-key services to install, commission and intgrate delivered equipment. Furthermore, Nokia participating in the planning of radio network. This GSM contract is the third one Nokia has signed this year in China and the first one between Nokia and China Unicom. Earlier this year Nokia signed GSM contracts with Beijing PTA and Fujian PTA.
